Want to start a Sustainable Guide for your town/community but not sure where to start? Here's a checklist for you! Everyone's process may differ, but we have laid out the steps we took to make ours happen for the city of Los Angeles 🌱

  • survey your community, take field trips around your town/neighborhood

  • based on your survey, pick key topics to focus on for your Sustainable Guide. You may need to filter these topics and group them into chapters/categories
• [ ] Assemble your Team
  • i.e. Researchers, Writers, Designers, Social Media Specialist
• [ ] Decide on format for the guide (i.e. Website, Digital PDF, Print, etc.)
• [ ] Onboard Volunteers
• [ ] In-depth Research
  • based on the key topics you've defined, you can now delegate your team to research specific topics
• [ ] Content Writing
  • clean up and edit your research
• [ ] Hand over content to designers
• [ ] Design
  • Layout content and brainstorm visual elements
  • Style guide (LA version)

  • Project Tracking Template
